Solar · Battery Storage · EV Charging Greater Manchester & the North West Established 2017
About us

A premium installer with electrical roots running deep.

TJS Solar was founded in Leigh in 2017 by Tony Sinclair, a time-served electrician who spent seven years building a strong electrical contracting business across Greater Manchester before pivoting into renewables in 2024.

Today we install across the North West for homeowners, and UK-wide for commercial clients — from corner shops to 226 kWp factory roofs. Every system is designed, project-managed and delivered by our own team.

We are deliberately not the cheapest. A solar system is a twenty-five year decision, and we treat it like one.

Our story

From electrical contracting to solar specialists.

“I started TJS Electrical Ltd back in 2017 after years working as an electrician for other people. I wanted to build something that did things properly — no cutting corners, no chasing the cheapest job.

By 2024 I could see where the industry was heading. Energy prices had doubled, homeowners were waking up to solar, and honestly most of the solar companies out there were cowboys. So we put everything into doing solar the right way.”

“If I wouldn’t put it on my own house, I won’t put it on yours.”

Sigenergy Gold Certified Installer

One of the top 5% of Sigenergy installers in the UK.

Gold certification is awarded by Sigenergy on installed capacity and service standards, and reviewed every six months. It places TJS Solar in the top five percent of installers nationally.

It matters to you for one reason. We install the same system every day. Our engineers are not learning a new inverter each week from a manual on the van floor — and when something needs answering, we have a direct line into the manufacturer rather than a support queue.

The system we recommend

Sigenergy SigenStor

Solar, inverter, battery, EV charging and backup power in one modular unit — controlled from a single app that learns your tariff and the local weather forecast, then charges and discharges to save you the most money without you touching it.

It is the only battery system we actively offer. Not because of a commercial arrangement, but because it is what we would put in our own homes.

Why SigenStor

Built to a standard you can see.

Five-tier battery safety

Decompression valve, high-temperature insulation, internal fire suppression, temperature sensors and aerogel pads between cells to stop heat spreading.

10,000 cycles

Engineered for longevity against an industry average nearer 6,000.

Whole-home backup

With the Backup Gateway your whole house stays on during a power cut, not just a couple of emergency circuits.

Ready for what comes next

Integrated bi-directional DC EV charging and modular expansion — add capacity later without replacing what you own.

The MySigen app — real-time control and monitoring.
Panels

Tier 1 panels, chosen for your roof.

We work with Aiko, Jinko, JA Solar and DMEGC. Because we are not tied to one manufacturer we specify the best-performing panel for your pitch, orientation and shading rather than the one in the warehouse. All carry a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year performance guarantee.

The team

A skilled team that takes pride in every install.

From first enquiry through to commissioning and ongoing support, you are dealing with the same in-house team throughout. We use a small group of trusted long-term partners for scaffolding and overflow capacity — never faceless subbies.

In-house, always

Our roofers and electricians are ours.

Most solar companies sell you a system and subcontract the work to whoever is free that week. If something leaks two winters later, you are chasing a company that is chasing someone else.

We employ our own roofing and electrical teams. The people who survey your property are accountable for the installation, and the company that installed it answers the phone afterwards.

We also handle your grid connection application in the office, so the paperwork with your network operator is never something you have to think about.

Included as standard

Things other installers charge extra for.

Bird blocker

Professional bird protection around the whole array to prevent nesting and long-term roof damage.

10-year workmanship warranty

Backed by insurance and supported by the NICEIC Platinum Promise.

Roof safety & structural survey

Drone and visual inspection including structural suitability, before we commit to a design.

MCS certification & handover pack

Test sheets, warranties and performance documentation, registered on your behalf.

App monitoring set up

Configured and working on your phone before we leave site.

Tariff advice

We tell you which export and time-of-use tariffs suit your system, and help you switch.

Waste removal

All packaging and installation waste taken away, site left clean.

Direct support line

A real technical team on the phone afterwards. No chatbots, no call centre.
